GlutaMent

GlutaMent™ is a glutamine intensive supplement designed for conditions associated with Gastrointestinal (GI) Injury or disease as well as other conditions that respond to glutamine therapy. Glutamine is the preferred amino acid source for the GI tract and is recognized to play an important role in GI health.


GlutaMent is an unflavored powdered instant mix which provides 10 grams of L-glutamine per pack. GlutaMent is designed to dissolve completely in liquid for ease of mixing, better palatability and to prevent clogging of a feeding tube. Mixed as directed, GlutaMent can be taken orally as a beverage or can be administered via a feeding tube with flushes. Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid (building block of protein) in the body and is involved in numerous metabolic processes including: immune system regulation, nitrogen shuttling, oxidative stress, muscle preservation, intestinal health, and recovery from injuries, trauma and critical illness. Supplemental l-glutamine can also be beneficial in the treatment of chronic diseases such as: arthritis, autoimmune diseases, fibrosis, inflammatory bowel disease, and connective tissue diseases.

Conditions: Typically used for but not limited to Wounds and Critical illness, Mucositis, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Strenuous exercise, Prevention of Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy.
